Yes, all international visitors (except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals) need a visa to enter Bhutan. We handle the entire visa application process for you once your trip is confirmed. Bhutan also requires a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of $100 per night, which we include in our trip pricing.
Absolutely. Our custom trip service lets you design a journey tailored entirely to your interests, pace, and budget. Whether you want a spiritual pilgrimage, a trekking adventure, or a cultural deep-dive, fill out the custom trip form on our contact page and our team will craft a bespoke itinerary just for you.
All our trip prices include accommodation, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), transportation within Bhutan, a licensed Bhutanese guide, entrance fees to dzongs and monasteries, the Sustainable Development Fee, and visa processing. International flights to Paro are not included but we can arrange them for you.
We keep our groups small and intimate, typically between 6 to 12 travelers. This ensures a personal experience, meaningful connections with local communities, and the flexibility to adapt plans as the journey unfolds.
The best seasons are spring (March to May) when rhododendrons bloom and valleys turn green, and autumn (September to November) when skies are crystal clear and the Himalayas are at their most dramatic. The Tshechu festivals in spring and autumn are particularly special.
It varies by itinerary. Our cultural tours involve moderate walking with some uphill trails (like the Tiger's Nest hike). Trekking itineraries require a good level of fitness. We always provide detailed fitness guidelines before each trip and can adjust the pace to suit the group.
Cancellations made 45 or more days before departure receive a full refund minus a processing fee. Between 30 and 44 days, a 50 percent refund applies. Cancellations within 29 days are non-refundable due to Bhutan's pre-paid tourism model. We always recommend travel insurance for peace of mind.
